Is it art or soft porn people ESPN’s Body Issue has been called all of those things and more. The Body issue has featured nude athletes in every genre of sport. is it the new age version of playboy and play girl. I’m just saying.  This new addition they go against the grain and the have a thick athlete gracing the the cover. “Thick men are in” some readers say.  In 2014 i assume the human body being naked and plastered all over the place is acceptable and no longer taboo. ESPN’s 6th edition of its Body Issue hits stands July 11th. The nude photos include six different covers and 22 athletes. ESPN The Magazine and ESPN.com editor in chief Chad Millman said, “This year’s collection of exceptional athletes and stunning photography showcases an array of sports and body types. It inhabits our mission to pay tribute to these athletes’ bodies and all they are capable of.”

The array includes six cover photos with 18-time gold medalist Michael Phelps, 5-time Wimbledon champ Venus Williams, Olympic snowboarder Jamie Anderson, Seattle Seahawks running back Marshawn Lynch, Oklahoma City Thunder forward Serge Ibaka, and Rangers first baseman Price Fielder.

Not all of the stars are tiny specimens with zero body fat. Price, at 5’11”, weighs in at 275 pounds.

“You don’t have to look like an Under Armour mannequin to be an athlete. A lot of people probably think I’m not athletic or don’t even try to work out or whatever, but I do. Just because you’re big doesn’t mean you can’t be an athlete. And just because you work out doesn’t mean you’re going to have a 12-pack. I work out to make sure I can do my job to the best of my ability. Other than that, I’m not going up there trying to be a fitness model,” he told ESPN The Magazine.
