The Gladiator fans are glued to their televisions tonite with the return of the much anticipated,Shonda Rhimes hit drama , ‘Scandal‘. Shonda Rhimes and Olivia Pope; well, Kerry Washington, will not disappoint us with the story line. The writing is impeccable. “I can tell you, you will know where the plane is going. In the very first episode, you will find out”, Kerry told Good Morning America.
It’s awesome to see this show evolve. We now look forward to a fashion collection by The Limited inspired by ‘Scandal’. It was designed by Olivia Pope herself, Kerry Washington, with the show’s costume designer Lyn Paolo (nominated for an Emmy this year). The Emmy and Golden Globe nominated actress Kerry Washington and Lyn Paolo, in collaboration with The Limited, have developed a new fashion line exclusively for The Limited inspired by Shonda Rhimes’ top-rated ABC drama, Scandal, which airs Thursdays at 9pm EST and premieres its fourth season this fall. The collection arrives in stores and online September 23rd.
Washington says, “By creating a line inspired by the show, we are introducing a collection that embodies the elegance and power of the Scandal aesthetic for real-life gladiators and everyday fashionistas.” In speaking on the fans, she says, “The collection is a nod to our devoted fans, to fans of fashion and to women everywhere who are inspired to boldly pursue their passions and look good while doing it.”
The collection is said the reflect Olivia Pope’s unique style. Remnant of the show, the collection tells a story of confidence and professional sophistication as well as maintaining a strong feminine point of view. “It has been a joy, as always, to collaborate with Kerry and now also with The Limited team who have been amazing,” said Paolo. “I am so excited and hopeful that our Gladiators are as excited about the collection as we are; it has been such tremendous fun and such an honor to design for the amazing characters that Shonda Rhimes has created and now to help make their style accessible to all.”
Kerry Washington and the design team seem to be eagarly waiting to see the collection on everyday Olivia Popes on the street. “Our inspiration came from the fans, our amazing Gladiators, who were asking for a way to look like [the character],” Paolo says. “I know I will run over to whomever I see in the collection and say hi … and also thank them for supporting us! We are all so excited and hope that the line will allow our Gladiators to enjoy yet another aspect of the amazing show that Shonda Rhimes has created.”
